Irrigation on the Drip System
Considerations

...I want to start on cob projects, but irrigation is what I feel I need now. I wish water catchment systems were dug and mostly used instead of well water, but it is a long time before the monsoon and southern AZ is in a serious drought.
... I am a gardener who had waited a bunch of years before buying my little homestead, so I admit being a crazed planting lunatic for this extended Spring. Until mid May, temps were kind to us though the wind has taken a toll.
... Water filtration..does anyone know of a filter that would filter salts out back at the meter? Water pressure is very high here and I have no electricity to that corner of my 4 acres. The main residence is 500 feet from the water meter and there is a T near the meter where 1-1/4Ó pvc pipe travels 200 feet stopping down to supply irrigation, a guest house and RV spots.
... Is there a filter that wonÕt reduce the volume of water too much or be too power intensive run on solar? Or would you need a water tank so the filter would continue to filter water into the tank until it was full and then only replace it with more filtered water when the float valve inside the tank dropped?...

...I'm going to try the micro plastic flat soaker hose recommended for veggie beds. I'll have to see how it mixes with the 1 gallon/ hour emmiters I need for my shrubs.
