To give your audience something to look at as you read, try to scroll so that an image or part of one can still be seen on the screen. For example, on page 2 with the large painting of Sylvestre as a kitten on a hike...you can leave his image but not the whole scene at the top of your screen while you read the paragraph right below it. Of course, if you have a large monitor, this becomes a non-issue.
The story is best viewed with your window dragged to just beyond the width of the the masthead on intro page with the title...maybe one half margin on each side. Of course, if you are viewing on a laptop, you may have to scroll around a bit.
If you are reading to a very young audience, there may be some big words you'll leave out for now. At some point, I hope this series will become a hard-bound book, so they may be able to read it themselves later.
Links in the future... I hope to add outside links to some of the topics using some character like an asterik next to the name in the story. An example for this chapter, though it is not active yet, would be coyote. Clicking on the asterick would take you to an outside source of info about coyotes. This is best done after the whole chapter has been read if you want to go back and do some further reading/viewing on the net for enrichment. If there is more than one asterick by a name, I've found more than one interesting link about it. If you find links for any of the topics in the story, I would appreciate you sharing the info with me.
Ideas, suggestions, and comments are always welcome.
Thanks for reading this story by Sandy Dykman Rice.
