PLANT PROTECTION MESH
I am the current owner of 30-something rolls of hardware mesh, some of which I will sell. I like the half inch mesh so bees can still get in and pollinate.
Yes, after weeks of negotiations, I completed a transaction I will be dealing with for quite some time to come. Needing a large quantity of plant protecting hardware cloth, I began searching for wholesale sources. As with so many goods these days, many of the manufacturers are in China. For about an eighth of the cost per roll compared to local retail outlets I checked with excluding shipping, receiving and transporting, I bought a quantity directly from China. I also checked wholesale outfits in the US, but they were high priced plus the ground shipping made any consideration of them impossible. Fortunately, I have family near the LA port willing to transport them to my little AZ ranchette, which made the venture feasible.
from journal clippings [...] Unfortunately, after family received them at the port and drove them here, I saw that the mesh was not quite as stout as I’d hoped. And after a couple of monsoon gully washers, I saw rust blooming through the packaging. Hey, these are supposed to be galvanized... I’ll have to paint it as I use it, and I won’t be able to sell it for as much as I’d planned.
This is a huge disappointment and I got no satisfaction when I emailed the manufacturer I bought it from in China, Anping Huilong Wire Mesh Manufacture Co.,Ltd. Bottom line, I won’t be trying to sell and distribute mesh here like I was considering doing..
